Best Marathon Finisher Gifts — An Honest List, Including Things We Do Not Sell
We sell prints, so read this knowing that. It still lists what we do not sell, because a runner who has just finished a marathon wants some things more than a print, and the print is better given a week later anyway.

The week of the race
- A massage voucher, booked. Not the bath salts; the appointment.
- The good socks. Two pairs of the ones they would not buy themselves.
- The photographs. Buy the official race photographs before the link expires; they are the thing everyone regrets not buying.
- A sleep-in. If you live with them, this is the gift.
The month after
- The print of the race. Ours or someone else's; see below. Give it once the photographs are back and the time has stopped being a sore subject.
- The medal frame. A frame that takes the medal and a print beside it. Ours is the medal display frame; there are plain medal hangers from about £15 that take the medal alone.
- Entry to the next one. Dangerous but effective.
- A book about the race. London, Boston and New York all have good histories; ask the bookshop.

The honest difference: the others make one style, by hand, from your upload, with a proof by email. We make 23 styles, live, from the run itself, and recognise the race. If you want a person to arrange it, or the cheapest sheet, the first two are good. If you want the day drawn by pace with the time and the splits, and the course under it, that is ours.
What not to give
A running watch they did not choose. A foam roller if they have one, and they have one. Anything that says "26.2" in a font.
Is a print a good gift for a first marathon?
The best one, given a week later. The first is the race they will keep.
What if I cannot get at their Strava?
The Course Print of the race needs nothing from their account; a voucher lets them make their own. Both are on the gifts page.
What if they walked some of it?
Then the print shows it, faintly, and they finished. That is the point.
