Belfast on paper
The Lagan runs north into the harbour through the middle of the frame, and the port takes over from there: quays, basins, and the slipways and dry dock of the old yards, all drawn as water inside their own walls. They are enormous on paper, out of proportion to anything else in the city, which is exactly the point of them.
West of the water the street pattern is the one Belfast is known for — long parallel terraces running off the main roads in tight repeating runs, block after block of them, with the entries between. They are drawn at a grain no other part of the print matches, and the roads they hang from climb west until the streets simply stop where the hills begin. The motorways cut through all of it: the two of them meet close to the centre and the link road runs south as a hard continuous line, separating the terraces from the city core as clearly on the sheet as it does on the ground.
South of the centre the character changes to university streets and villas, with the botanic grounds and the towpath beside the river, and the frame's bottom edge reaches the parkland along the Lagan valley. Seven kilometres across holds the harbour, the centre, the terraces and the university together. Take it in to a kilometre and a half and the yards alone fill the paper, slips and all.

Do the shipyard slipways show?
They do. The slips, the graving dock and the basins are water on the map, so they print as water with the quays drawn around them — the clearest piece of industrial geography on any of our prints.
Can I centre it on one street?
Yes. Search the street name in the Studio and take the frame down to a kilometre; the terrace, its entries and the streets either side fill the sheet.
Does it ship to Ireland?
Yes, north and south. Prints are made in the United Kingdom and posted tracked, and checkout shows the arrival window for the address before you pay.
Where does the map come from?
OpenStreetMap, through OpenFreeMap’s vector tiles — the same data the race prints draw. Nothing is invented: if a street is missing it is missing from the map, and anyone can add it at openstreetmap.org.
Can I print somewhere near Belfast instead?
