What it reads from your data

A custom map print, from your own activities

Any area you choose: a centre and a width, from 600 metres across to 42 kilometres.
Real streets, rivers, parks and coastline, from OpenStreetMap.
Four treatments: ink on paper, a dark sheet lit by its streets, a compass circle, or an atlas sheet with the graticule and the scale.
The name of the place, the county or country beneath it, and its coordinates.
Both ends named on the print when it is the stretch between two places.
Any point you like marked and named — a house, a school gate, a favourite bench.

Every part of the print can be moved, resized, recoloured or removed in the Studio; the route, the map and the words each take a colour of their own. Nothing is printed until you order.

Good to know

Can I print my village rather than a city?

Yes. Search for it by name or postcode and the frame arrives at village size, about two and a half kilometres across; the slider takes it wider or closer, and you can drag the print to move the frame.

Can one print hold two neighbourhoods?

Yes. Choose the first place, then use "frame it from here to somewhere else": the print opens out to hold both, and each is named where it sits.

Where does the map come from?

OpenStreetMap, through OpenFreeMap's vector tiles — the same data the race prints draw. Nothing is invented: if a street is missing it is missing from the map, and anyone can add it at openstreetmap.org.

Does it need Strava?

No. The Map Print is made from the place and your words alone. Add a run in the Studio and you can have the route on those streets instead.

Which size?

A3 suits one neighbourhood or a small town. A2 and A1 hold a whole city and keep its smallest streets legible.

Are the street names printed?

No. The print carries the place name, the line beneath it and the coordinates; the streets are drawn, not labelled, which is what makes it read as a picture from across the room.

Connect Strava in one tap for a race, a ride or a whole year. Or search for a place, type a postcode for your street on the old Ordnance Survey, or add a photograph — none of those needs an account.
